Altruiste Bicycle Company

Unconventional

Altruiste Bicycle Company come from the far east of Canada; the village of Notre-Dame in New Brunswick to be exact. Owner/Proprietor Gabriel Lang told us, “We’ve received over 11 feet of snow since the last week of January, so we’re really looking forward to our trip to Louisville. Hopefully we’ll have a break from this harsh winter we’ve been having.”

Whoops. Yeah, sorry ’bout that, Gabriel. At least the weekend was nice.

The first-time NAHBS exhibitor specializes in tig-welded Cromoly frames. Lang says, “We don’t have preferences when it comes to cycling disciplines. I enjoy the challenge of building a double suspension downhill frame as much as creating a clean track frame.”

When asked to describe his bikes’ key attributes, Lang said, “Our designs are clean and we always try to include modern and innovating elements in the geometry. We try to outsource as little as possible so most of the element of the frames are made in house and unique. What we do outsource is artwork from local artists and we try to include that in every frame.”

“I guess we’re a bit left-of-center. We try to go against what is conventional!”
